With the release of 'One More Bridge To Cross' vocalist Mighty Sam McClain proved again that he understands what the blues is all about.
The album is to be released in february 2003 by his own record label Mighty Music.
'One More Bridge To Cross' mixes a few bluesstyles with a smile to the soul and even some funky blues in 'Are you ready for Love'. A very strong opening of the album with 'Why Do We Have To Say Goodbye' to get in the right athmosphere. Gospel sounds come in on 'Open Up Heaven's Door' while the blues takes over in 'If It Wasn't 4 Da Blues'.The hammond sound has not passed this album and fills up 'Thought I Heard Your Voice' on a very nice way.
With a guitarsound that reminds a little of Gary Moore in "The Other Man In The Band" and Carlos Santana in 'What's Your Name', this is a very good album if you're a lover of blues with a feelin'.
For all a good reason to check this one out at your recordstore. |
